Purpose: Demonstrating the potential of GIS (geographic information system) technology and the Access/Remoteness Index for Australia (Aria) as instruments for planning the medical workforce and health in Australia. Conclusions: Gp services are relatively inaccessible to many rural communities in south Australia. There is potential for GIS and ARIA to contribute to the rationalization of medical personnel and health care planning. The addition of health care measures and more detailed data on the nature and extent of proposed family physician services will allow for more differentiated planning. As a result of the restrictions on COVID-19`s business, all parties agreed in principle to extend the existing agreements for six months until 31 May 2021, allowing it sufficient time to negotiate and conclude the new agreement. Formal approval of the extension is sought by standard acquisition procedures. Family physician fees for information relating to the service agreement Essential information for fee planning and advice on the new agreement has begun with the aim of establishing an agreed list of key negotiating points. Negotiations with the parties and the link with the Crown Solicitor`s Office (CSO) are expected to take place later this year. The focus on resolving key negotiating points before the agreement begins will help ensure a positive outcome for all parties. The Rural Doctors Association (NSW) is one of seven members of the Rural Doctors Association of Australia.

RDA NSW is a non-profit organization whose core business is to ensure the viability of work in the country for field doctors, addressing the most important industrial issues and committing to health services for rural communities. Membership in the GDR (NSW) is open to all field doctors, students, general practitioners and NSW specialists, not just those working in the 125 small rural hospitals in New South Wales. Phone: (08) 8226 6546 E-mail: GPagreement@sa.gov.au Once the main negotiating points have been resolved, financial authorization will be sought by the Minister of Health and Welfare, and the CSO will draw up the agreement and, if necessary, request contributions from the parties. Once the agreement is developed, it will be submitted for approval by NHS regional CEOs and boards of directors. It is then expected to be issued in early 2021 by the regional CEOs of LHN, AMASA and RDASA for formal adoption and execution, which will come into force on 1 June 2021. Current MRSA agreements expire on November 30, 2020. The Australian Medical Association (SA) (AMASA) and the Rural Doctors Association of South Australia (RDASA) have been invited to negotiate a new joint agreement with the regional NHS on behalf of rural GP workers. Please note that some new agreements will come into effect on July 1, 2017. With its cooperation with other stakeholders, RDA NSW is at the forefront of finding solutions to current labour shortages in rural areas.

Activities range from high school students to GP retention scholarships, including anesthesia and birth scholarships. In addition, CME/Locum grants, practical incentive bonuses, multi-thousand-dollar training grants, removal grants and installation fees. We collaborate with The Land, which provides financial support to medical students through the Country Rural Medical Scholarship, while RDA NSW provides tutoring to fellows each year.
